Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. She is most famous for her character, the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney, the only daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by four brothers and sisters. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials after moving from New York. As a teenager her first appearance as an actor was on the soap opera All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years in the 80s, has been featured in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional has not been a success and has not been happy. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two divorces that failed and fought with alcoholism. Her custody in 2005 was taken away from her.
